Take 5 and uncover Unfurl Plants

Pssssssst: Have you met Peta from Unfurl Plants yet? Peninsula Life took 5 with this mum of 2 (and plant-mum of thousands) to uncover everything Unfurl Plants has to offer!

TELL US ABOUT UNFURL PLANTS

“I started Unfurl Plants during COVID,” shares Peta. “Originally, I started with a market stall, but soon decided that we needed a permanent space. So as of the start of spring we’ve been in our own store in Baker St.”

WHAT MADE YOU OPEN ON THE PENINSULA?

“The Peninsula has so many great stores and restaurants, however there’s nothing ALIVE!! I wanted to share the happiness of plants with the locals!!”

SO, TELL US, WHY THE (AMAZING) OBSESSION WITH PLANTS?

“I grew up in Far North Queensland always surrounded by plants – they love the humidity in our climate. It just continued to grow with me and when I found myself living in my own home jungle, I decided it was time to share it with others.”

DO YOU STOCK OTHER PRODUCTS?

“Along with plants we stock a large range of pots and planters; a majority of which are hand painted by local Brisbane artists. We also stock giftwares such as handmade earrings and candles which are also locally made. You can also get propagation mediums and vases.”

TELL US ABOUT YOUR WORKSHOPS?

“We run hands-on workshops once a month. These workshops encompass plant health, propagation and different soils and are always a great and informative time. The next workshop will be on Thursday 19th November at 6.30pm and you can find other dates on our Facebook page.”

WHEN CAN PEOPLE COME AND DISCOVER THEIR NEXT ADDITION TO THEIR PLANT COLLECTION?

“Unfurl Plants is open 9-4 from Tuesday to Saturday and on Sundays, we still continue to have our market stall at Redcliffe Markets at the end of Baker St, alongside the shop being open 8-2.30. Look out for the big pink trailer!!”
