Spring into the surf

Living on the Peninsula, you are sure to have seen our Surf Life Saving legends around. Not only do these heroes in red and yellow keep us safe on our beautiful beaches and favourite water spots, but they also have a whole club and community behind the scenes that you (or your little one) can join.

Peninsula Life soaks up 10 minutes with the Redcliffe Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) to learn all the details and how YOU can spring into their world as the weather warms up.

What are the benefit of joining Redcliffe SLSC?

There are so many! You can make new friends, get active, have some fun, learn lifesaving skills AND you get to be at the beach on a Sunday (or a Saturday if you are on patrol)!!

We encourage everyone to join! If you love a bit of competition, we also run carnivals! All 14 Sunshine Coast Clubs come together to compete in events that they practice for each Sunday.

What is involved in the nippers program?

If you have a little one, why not consider enrolling them in Nippers?  Nippers is run completely by volunteers and is targeted at kiddies aged between 5-14 years of age. It is a fun and safe way to introduce the lifesavers of tomorrow to the ocean environment.

Want to contribute to the program? Every role is taken on by a member who volunteers their time – this is usually parents of nippers but not always. A great deal of man power and mind thinking goes into this program and many hands help to make a more efficient and smooth running operation – we would love your help!

How can my kids join Nippers?

Our sign on days ran late August and early September but for those that couldn’t be there, you can come to the club in the first couple weeks of nippers and we can still squeeze you in. More information can be found on our website.

How can adults join the SLSC?

Adults can become part of a patrol team or just help out at the club when they can! Adult programs/courses are run during the season (Sep-May) and dependant when we have enough candidates for a course. Contact us to find out more.

2018 will mark the 15th year of the national fundraising appeal. It is pivotal in ensuring that volunteer surf lifesavers have the necessary equipment, training and resources to continue safeguarding our state’s beaches

Our members will be out during the SOS week (15-21 October) in some key locations raising funds. PLEASE DONATE! Every cent comes back to OUR club right here on the Peninsula.

Head to lifesaving.com.au/support-us/sosweek2018/ to find out more or call the club to find out how to make a donation.
