Well, well, well. 2018 has nearly ditched us. Where did the year go?! As summer graces us with its presence, we’ve got a whole three months to fill with whatever we choose! What better way to get started than with sussing out a new hobby or two?!
This craft has been around since forever and it’s one the whole family are welcome to get involved in at The Redcliffe Woodcraft Society. The Redcliffe Woodcraft Society offers workshops in Box Making, Instrument Making, Pyrography, Scroll Saw, Toy Making, Woodcarving, Woodturning, and so much more! That’s sure to keep you busy!
PAINTING AND POTTERY
So on trend right now is the age old art of wheel throwing! You can sign up for a six week course at the Redcliffe Art Society. Painting maybe more your thing? Why not try a class in watercolour, oils/acrylic or life drawing? There’s something ARTY for everyone so come get creative! The Redcliffe Art Society welcomes new members and has some awesome art events happening throughout the year!
Are you looking for a place to develop your public speaking and leadership skills? Peninsula Toastmasters is a non-profit organisation that welcomes you along on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Monday at 7:15pm, with meetings held at the Redcliffe Library. It’s your time to shine so get along and have a GO! The world is your oyster!
The more we give, the happier we feel. It is no wonder volunteering increases self-confidence – you are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment! Redcliffe has so many charity and businesses that need extra hands so jump online and find your perfect match.
Redcliffe Coastguards, Redcliffe PCYC, The Breakfast Club Redcliffe, Redcliffe Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club, Men’s Shed Redcliffe and Redcliffe Hospital all welcome volunteers (just to name a few!).
Dive into the history of our beloved Redcliffe as a member of History Redcliffe and research, collect, evaluate, preserve, inform, promote and honour Redcliffe History. They welcome all ages and have monthly meetings/guest speakers to keep you well informed.
Find your inner actress or actor at weekly adult acting classes! This class is all about using drama as a form of personal development & expression – and a source of fun! At Red Musical you will be singing, dancing and acting! This class is for those looking for a fun and exciting way to make new friends and learn some fantastic skills to take into life and the workplace.
Get your apron and chef’s hat and head straight to Soul Harvest Wholefoods Eatery at Margate for some awesome cooking workshop fun! These guys have a range of cooking workshops on every month, teaching you all the latest healthy food trends from how to make kombucha to fermenting and heaps more!

The Redcliffe Kite Club members participate in demonstrations across the state (and occasionally inter-state) and also conduct workshops in basic kite making. Members enjoy the advanced workshops and also have the privilege of hosting Redcliffe Kitefest each year. New members or interested parties are most welcome. Pop down and see the team at the Kite Shed at Pelican Park on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.
With sports clubs aplenty on the Redcliffe Peninsula you’ll be sure to find a sport to sink your hands into! Whether you’re into tennis, hockey, swimming, soccer or football, there’s a sports club for you!
