Redcliffe rolls out the red carpet for entertainers, foodies and events

As an exciting element of Council’s Redcliffe Foreshore Master Plan and Activation Strategy, locals and visitors alike can expect from mid-2018 to see the Redcliffe Foreshore come alive with pop-up sites across the Peninsula.

Running as a trial until the end of September 2018, Mayor Allan Sutherland said this program was designed to invigorate the economy and vibrancy of Redcliffe by enabling a new wave of entertainment, food and tourism ventures to operate along the Peninsula – bringing with it valuable tourism dollars.

“Through extensive consultation we have heard loud and clear the resounding message that people want to see more pop-up vendors and activations along our foreshore precincts,” said Cr Sutherland.

“Frankly, the response was overwhelmingly positive and if locals turn out to support these activations in the same way they have advocated for them, then I think this trial will be an enormous success.”

“More people coming into town means more foot traffic past existing bricks and mortar businesses, which means new opportunities to target new clientele.”

“I look forward to further feedback from residents, visitors and local businesses as we roll out this exciting pilot program so we can adjust its operations as we go.”

Council will be actively seeking feedback during the course of the trial which runs to the end of September 2018.
