A new wave of life

Finding the right balance between life and leisure is becoming easier every day in our beautiful region, particularly with the waterside community of Newport coming to life.

The Stockland Newport development, perfectly positioned across 143 hectares, offers locals and those living in the community a new wave of life – including a future 22-hectare non-tidal lake, future parks, and a future retail centre.

With new landmarks and amenities coming to life every day, find out what’s on offer at Newport.

Nautical-Themed Park

WHEN: Construction will commence later in the year.

WHAT: Exciting plans are underway to develop a nautical-themed playground, including plaza and art installation, at our major Lakeside Park.

ENJOY: The large playground will provide a wide range of play experiences for children of all ages and abilities. A 10m tall play tower (inspired after a yacht’s spinnaker) will provide stunning views over the lake and bay and ample turf areas will provide space for community gatherings and future community events.

A plaza, positioned centrally in the park, will feature public art pieces and interactive water features which will be illuminated at night (subject to council approval).

Non-tidal Lake

WHEN: Phase one is scheduled for completion in October 2018 when the lake will be filled with sea water.

WHAT: On completion, the lake will be 22-hectares (that’s 2,000,000 cubic metres of earth equating to 2 billion litres of water).

ENJOY: The lake will hold two shared use zones for light paddle craft. Boating enthusiasts will enjoy the 14 metre depth of the lake, which will allow for deep water, high mast access in and out of the lake facilitated by a lock. At a high level the lock structure is 5.7m wide, 20m long and 4.5m deep. For more information on the Waterfront homes available with private moorings, visit the Newport Sales and Information Centre.
