The Redcliffe Art Trail
Lauren from Discover Redcliffe spills the secrets on the best way to delight your senses and savour art in our region on the Redcliffe Art Trail.
The Redcliffe art scene has come alive and I could squeal with delight at the menu of artsy options to explore and indulge in –not only for adults but for the kiddos too! It’s an exciting time of change for our sleepy, seaside village as we start to emerge into the art scene!
To help you along on your art adventure, I have put together the Redcliffe Art Trail. Meander your way around town while stopping to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and eateries and appreciate the passion and hard work that shines through in an artists’ piece of work.
Hit the trail
First up, in no particular order, we have our newest art Gallery ‘Red Poppy Art Collective’ on Baker Street, Redcliffe. This smaller-sized gallery sure does pack a punch with original and unique pieces of artwork by both national and local artists! Open 7 days.
Nestled in a stunning heritage listed building at 133 Redcliffe Parade, we have ‘Seaside Artists Gallery’ which is home to an array of local arts and crafts! The ceilings are high, the space is vast, and the walls are a visual infusion of colour! There’s sure to be something to cater to everyone’s aesthetic tastes!
You may not know but underneath the Redcliffe Culture Centre is ‘The Stage Door Gallery’ and she is a beauty! Located in the main foyer of the venue, the gallery constantly rotates its exhibitions to highlight a variety of work by local artists. Be sure to check the moretonbayartcouncil.org website for all the upcoming events!
Catch the movers and shakers at The Old Fire Station, located at 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. This arts hub houses it all –from art and pottery classes, to a state-of-the-art gallery home and some of Redcliffe’s best and aspiring artists. Check out the website for events and exhibitions redcliffeartsociety.com.au or give them a follow on Instagram!
Last, but definitely not least, is our little local gem ‘The Redcliffe Art Gallery’ located with the Redcliffe Library at 470 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. Discover an outstanding public gallery with high quality local and touring exhibitions that offer a unique perspective on the Redcliffe Peninsula and the Moreton Bay Region. We love the interactive kids’ art zone and the gallery shop which includes a selection of local, award-winning and exhibition-related artists, such as pottery artist Redraku and Gayle McHutchinson for silk scarfs!
Local is lovely, art is life! Hope to see you on the everchanging Redcliffe Art Trail very soon!
